K-Swiss have made their reputation in the social tennis market due to the superb comfort, support, durability, and traction that their shoes provide. The Defier and Accomplish series are legendary, and the new Approach II is making it's mark as the competent replacement for these 2 storied shoes.

For the first time K-Swiss have produced a genuine players type shoes with features that define the K-Swiss brand, while still retaining excellent comfort in a lighter frame for the social player.

The K-Swiss Big Shot is already making a name for itself in the market as a genuine Barricade challenger for the Australian market. We have extensively tested the K-Swiss Big Shot over the past 3 months and have been extremely impressed with the performance and comfort.

So impressed, one of our staff is wearing them as an everyday shoe while at work due to the support and comfort they provide during long hours stringing. But the burning question is, how do they compare to Barricades in the specialty tennis performance market?

First Impressions
One of the first thing strikes you is the sleek and modern look of the Big Shot, which is not a common feature of K-Swiss tennis shoes. Soon as you slip your foot into the shoe you notice that traditional K-Swiss comfort and the snug, supportive fit. Perfect fit for average to wide foot, definitely slightly wider than the Barricades which were too narrow and caused slight pain for myself.

Performance
The shoes initially take a good 2 to 3 hours to wear in before you start to notice why the Big Shots are getting such a huge rap. The stability and confidence the shoe gives you as you stop and turn is second to none, especially on the clay courts where the herringbone pattern really comes to the fore. Equally as impressive on synthetic grass and hard courts, these are one of the most impressive genuine all court shoes that play equally well on clay / en tout cas courts.

Durability
Having played solidly 2 to 3 times per week with 70% of time on clay courts, the sole is showing very little signs of wearing while with the rest of the shoe in pristine condition. The toe drag guard and dura wrap are a great feature for the toe draggers, as it has protected the shoe perfectly with very little signs of wear.

Construction
The Superfoam construction in the midsole is the key to the low ride and full comfort of the Big Shot. The ballistic propulsion plate provides more stabillity and assists in keeping the player on the balls of their feet for faster movement, and the inner sole is also cushioned to provide superior cushion and comfort. The breathable mesh construction durability help keep your feet cool especially during those long matches and for Summer tennis.

Summary
K-Swiss has hit the mark with their first true player shoe, that is comfortable and supportive enough for the social night comp player after the highest quality shoe.
